Originally from Texas, Buzz Carter was transferred to Robins AFB in 1992. After falling in love with the area, and meeting his future wife, Buzz decided to stay in the Middle Georgia area. Scotty Wilkes has always lived in the Middle Georgia area. He attended Central High School in Macon where he met his wife of almost 15 years. After moving to Warner Robins in 1997, he met Buzz and a true friendship was formed. In 1998 Buzz and Scotty started building homes together and Carter-Wilkes Construction was born.

Buzz Carter and Scotty Wilkes set out to create a different kind of construction company. Rather than maximizing profits on each home by giving clients minimum amenities and poor standards, Mr. Carter and Mr. Wilkes had a very different vision. They had the vision of creating a company that would cater to the discriminating home buyer, by providing quality built homes with grand features at an affordable price.
